This story has been added to the People's War site by Shankill Library on behalf of Mr Henry Workman and has been added to the site with his permission.

During the war I worked in the shipyard and therefore didn't go to war. My brother served in the Navy and came back safely.
We lived in Greenmount Street near the railway and weren't too bothered by the
air-raids.
I remember once being out in a rowing boat when a bomb was dropped - we were only affected by the wash caused by the bomb.
