During the war I was only a child and my father thought that because we lived in Small Heath we would be near the bombing. So we all moved to Hall Green. This meant that school and my education was interrupted and was educationally behind in my years. My family at this time decided it would be best if I would be sent to relatives at Troubridge Wiltshire Its here I experienced a different kind of education and experience. On returning home most nights were spent below ground in a shelter. Father would be Warden Sergeant in the Home Guard and later became Warrant Officer in ATC. The point of the story because of the war, I did not attain my degree until I was 50years old.
