I was born in May 1945 so my memories are of the time after the war. I lived in Shropshire my aunt had evacuees from Liverpool who remained great friends for many years.
The one evacuee who was blind made two rugs for my parents, these were part of my chidhood together with the dreaded sweet rationing.
