My Dad was born in 1938 in Hulme in Manchester. He doesn,t remember tasting any fruit until about 1944, when there was an uproar that one of the shops had lemons. He said my Gran queued for hours. When she got home she left them on the sideboard, my Dad and uncle couldn,t contain themselves to try them, surely with this much fuss they must be amazing! My Dad took a hugh bite, to his horror, he,d never tasted anything so disguisting in his life! If can eat powdered egg you can eat anything!!!!
