My brother Eric joined the RAF in the later part of 1940 and flew with the Lancaster Bomber crew as a rear gunner. Unfortunately I can鈥檛 recall where he was stationed. He served the full term of the war unscathed and returned to civilian life. Where there was a period of unsettled times trying to catch up with the period of years of life lost to the war.
His career was varied and roots hard to put down, he worked for some years at Joseph Lucus, in Hockley Birmingham and finally went into building his own business in commercial stationary in Broad Street Birmingham.
