There was a great deal of activity until the end of the war when things did quieten down. There were the street parties but the war hadn’t entirely finished as the Japanese war was still going on. This didn’t go on for long but we didn’t know much about that. The blackout finished and rationing as we knew it was worse after the war than it was during the war for a number of reasons. I wasn’t there then so I didn’t know much about it.
