I was living in the Isle of Man, I was 8 years old when the war was on. We never had a war as such, but felt sorry for people in England. We did have ration books, but we grew our own potatoes and veg on the Island. We were very lucky that we never went hungry. We were never bombed, we only heard the planes going back to England. We just had to pray that all the flyers got back safe. By the grace of God we were very lucky.
