The above mamed was my eldest brother and he had been wounded on the outskirts of
Brussels in a mopping up operations when their commanding officer was killed in action.
I happened to ask him when did he go over and he said D+5 whiuch meant the Saturday
following D. Day. I asked him did he remember where he went from. Yes he said-
from Southamton Old Docks.
I said "Did you go out on a Tank Landing Craft " Three of you went out after one another" Yes he said. " Well I was standing on the deck watching you 2 Berths away "
