Going out side into yard to watch plane鈥檚 dropping bombs getting thick ear for being outside by Granddad. Our school was closed made into hospital for troops. We went to private house鈥檚 for 2 hours per day for a long while, also collecting jam jars for troop trains. Going through Sheffield and filling them with tea going to see damage done to the moor in Sheffield (Bombing).
Playing with my dads rifle when he came home on leave. He was in R.M. He did 26 years.
So many little thing that back i.e. P.O.W. working in railway sheds making pipets all little for us kids.
First thing in the morning going out looking for nose cones off shells and buts of bombs.
One raid my granddad put me under the arch from kitchen to living room keep trying to light his pipe with paper spil from fire when it light bomb drop he run back.
