When all is still and empty,
And not a whisper heard,
When the fields are barren,
And there is no whistling bird.

When the skies are cast and heavy,
And the clouds let forth no rain,
There鈥檒l be no tomorrows,
There鈥檒l be no more pain.

When the sun no more rises,
And sinks at the end of the day,
When the world is no more starving,
And in the fields no warriors lay.

When the guns forever silenced,
And no cries of anguish heard,
There鈥檒l be no tomorrows,
And no more bitter words.
