I can remember when I was about 9 years old hiding under the Morrison Table Shelter with my sister, brother and Mam. We heard the planes droning overhead, which was scary.
When my Mam heard that Coventry had been bombed, she was very worried because my Dad, Walter, was working on aircraft production in Coventry at Roots.
Mum's mind was put to rest when a friend who was working with my Dad, got his wife to contact Mam to put her mind at rest by telling her that he was fine.
