My Grandad was in World War 2. He was in the Fourth Battalion Irish regiment. My Grandad's name was joseph and he was 13 when he was in the War. He got captured by the Japanese but luckily escaped. My Grandad carried a wounded soldier on his back for seven days. My Grandad won the military medal. He was relieved when the War had finished and he got a certificate. My Grandad died 3rd may 1974. The doctor said that when he got stabbed in the War, It caused a blood clot and this eventully travlled to his heart and killed him. He died when my mum was six and he was 58 when he died.
