Worsbro’ Dale Landlords Tale

An allotment holder had two pigs, which had to be declared to Ministry of Agriculture, but he only declared one. When the inspector came to stamp them he said, ‘Where’s t’other one’, because he had hung up two right sides.

My Mother kept our newsagent’s shop going. A customer gave her a cockerel for when Dad came on leave, but he was delayed, so she tied it up by one leg on the lawn, till he came home. It became quite friendly, but we still ate him.
