We lived in the country, so we were not evacuated, we took in refugees, although we still had gas mask practice. We used to blow down it to make a rude noise to annoy the teacher. We shared half of the house with them and found one womans husband at the RAF centre in Warton! There was an incident when the end of our street was bombed- and instead of hiding under the kitchen table we went out to look at it.
