Iwas standing looking out of my glass cage I was in isolation in the Royal Victoria in Belfast yes I am only three years old and had a rare facial growth that required special treatment only done by this lovely lady american doctor. My treatment was very successful and I was duly taken home on a very cold winter's night, the war was in full swing and the train was full of soldiers who questioned my mum about me being out in the cold but she stated I had been in the hospial for 3 months and she was glad to get me home. A short time later my mum woke me up to take me to the window "The German's are bombing Belfast Margaret I am glad I got you home safe" she said. I saw the sky lit up and it was like fireworks in a distance.
After the war was over mum took me up to Belfast for a checkup with a doctor.
She showed me the hospital wing that I was in it was completely domlished by a bomb and my lovely American Doctor was Killed in the raid
