THIS STORY HAS BEEN ADDED BY A CSV 大象传媒 RADIO BRISTOL VOLUNTEER. With Reference to Bristol Times issue 169 of Tuesday 16th October 2001, pages 28/9 and top right picture p29. The furthest man is my Dad - Douglas H Barlow. He joined before the war, his boss was Arthur Fisher and workmate Norman Mace. On page 28 the man coming up the stairs is lifelong friend, who died in 1991, and his wife in 2003. The lady in the photo might be Molly Foss who worked with Dad for years and I recently heard her voice on Radio Bristo one morning. I have taken photocopies of the pictures for this description and also another one of him in the Broadcasting House, Whiteladies Road, which shows his face.
Dad was born in 1907 and was given 3 extra years after 60, so he would have retired in 1970. he lived until 1986 when he was 79.
In the Bristol Times of Tuesday 6th July 2004 there was another article about the Rocks Railway and a smaller version of the same picture from page 29 as above.
