There were bombs every night and I got very little sleep. My brother Albert was in Belvedere hospital with scarlet fever and a land mine dropped behind it but didn't go off.We seemed to have piles of clothes which we just used to jump into when the sirens went off. My father worked for the Admiralty in London and he came home one day to his digs to discover it wasn' t there.A sister-in-law in Clydebank had her house flattened.
