When the Germans were in Falmouth we entertained them royally and one of the entertainments was a football match against the Docks Apprentices. I’m delighted to say that the Docks Apprentices beat the Germans but this didn’t stop the Germans presenting all the team with a postcard of their vessel. A friend of mine round the corner, Grahame Campbell, now well into his eighties loaned me his copy and we have a number of copies of pictures of the Schleswig Holstein, although not in Falmouth Harbour. Lots of people did take pictures of it whilst it was in Falmouth Harbour and I’m sure many people remember that.
