Three post officee Messenger boys. Two of the three lost their lives WWII. DRS was in the 9th Btn B Coy 12th Platoon Cameronians who lost his life 25th March 1945 after the Rhine crossing. He had no brothers and sisters and I have nedeavoured to keep his name alive. Albert Vosper wanted to get into action before the war finished and ended up in the tanks, losing his life 30th April 1945 aged 18. Eric messenger did not volunteer went intio the guards and the war was over by the time his training was finished. In 1995 I decided that there must be more than a newspaper report in April 1945, reporting Dennis' loss of life, and decided to investigate D's service, finding out aboth the regt. he was in. His death tragically gave me life as I did not know what to do with myself. I have spent my retirement researching his life.
