My job at Fisher and Ludlows was making baby gas masks and incendiary bombs, whilst working week-ends the girls we were working with, if they didn鈥檛 use all their rations our boss used to let the girls bring their rations in. We used to have bacon sandwiches, some of which we sold to the men working around the factory, we also did raffles and in turn each one of the girls who had a husband in the forces we used to send them a parcel.
