Doodlebug at Hornchurch.
I lived in Hornchurch which had an aerodrome but the Germans didn鈥檛 know it existed , the only bomb that came was a doodle bug but towards the end of the war (1944). My sister and I had our weekly baths and had to come downstairs to have a cup of cocoa for supper when we heard this flying bomb called a doodlebug , then the engine cut and all was silent. We dived for our Morrison shelter which was in our hall. In the confusion my sister stepped into her cocoa and scalded her foot. But luckily the bomb landed in the park. So it didn鈥檛 do much damage.
