My husband received a spinal injury during a practise.
He spent a year in hospital and then in convalescence, then he was back into hospital and then discharged.
We lived with his mum in Ashby.
I didn't want to leave London and live in Ashby but I did get used to it and I've played a part in the local community and had my family here.
I remember at the end of war party there was a cart and my husband led the horse.
We had a big parade in Ashby.
There were floats.
It lasted for a day and everyone in the village took part.
