During a blitz on Coventry my family went down the air raid shelter. On returning home after the raid the teapot which was left on the table,was missing the lid.The lid had been blown off, hit the chimney breast where it sunk into the plaster,
and was never found. On replacing a three piece suite many years later,buried deep down the bark of the settee was the teapot lid.
