I am 90 years young now which is quite a surprise since I was the only survior from when we were attacked whilst we all thought the war was all done and dusted!

Whilst carry out my duties as a member of the minesweeping party on board the HMS Aries on the RAF. I remember standing upright near the front of the ships deck our ship was hit and damaged. I was hurt my injuries included fraturing the 8th and 9th verterbe on my spine and also broke my arm in the blast I moved carefully from the ship so as not to cause any more damage to my already broken body, I was rescused by seaboat crew, I remebered laughing & thinking why I am I laughing! I Cheated death nd can still live to tell the tale.
