This story was submitted to the peoples war site by a pupil at Esher High school on be half of Alan newman and has been added to the site with his perssion.Alan Newman fully understands the sites terms and conditions.
In the war I lived at vauxhall. my father was an air raid warden. When a raid happened many people went to sleep at night on the platform at the oval tube station and left there houses. german planes often droped incendary bombs to light up the area.Once my farther and I saw a house alight.As the people were in the tube we broke down the door of the house and went up stairs and put out the fire with our three pieces of equipment.
