A couple of days before the fall of Singapore, 4 or 5 of us was standing in a group. A Sgt. Major came to us, (Can't remember what Reg). We came to attention, when he spoke to us, he looked us over then said, "Have you lot shaved this morning?",
"No Sir, no water Sgt. Major".
"Have you had a p**s, this morning?", he said.
"yes sir". we said
"Well go and have another, in a tin your mug will do, back here in 10 mins".
We did, stood in front of him.
Sgt. Major "That's better. If we go down lets look like British Soldiers!".
