My Carrier Platoon and I liberated Outmarsum. The ladies of the town came out of their homes, collected my soldiers and took them in for wine and cakes. It took me some time to gather my men back together so that we could continue to pursue the German soldiers out of the town. We did not capture any of the Germans but they all fled the town. The Burgomaster was so grateful to my platoon, that he invited us back to a special ceremony. During the ceremony I was made a Freeman of Outmarsum and presented with a framed scroll, prepared by the nuns of the town. The scroll depicted the events of the day that we had liberated Outmarsum.
