We were in the Anderson Shelter in the garden because the warning had gone, mum, dad, myself and my sister of 2. My mum was 6 months pregnant. Mum went into the kitchen to have a drink, took her teeth out and put them onthe draining board; heard a V1 come over and ran back to the shelter, leaving her teeth. The V1 came over and exploded close by. We were safe, and emerged from the shelter to see the damage to our house. My mother remembered her teeth, and looked in the kitchen which was damaged. We all had to search for them ,and eventually found them in the garden, safe but chippped.
My mother wore those teeth for the rest of her life.
