During the blitz, we went to the underground canal. We went down the steps near the cathedral. It runs under Deansgate. When we came back up there was rubble everywhere. When we got to Oldham Street, we thought that we could see bodies but it was actually dummies from a C & A store. They were all laid out. It wasn't funny at the time but it is now.
