About 1940/41 I was sleeping in bed at home. I was about nine years old.
The sirens went off but my parents never woke us up until the bombs started falling.
One night the bombs started so quickly that all hell broke lose. I managed to get out of bed and start running down stairs. My mom picked up my little brother and started running after me down the stairs. He was still fast asleep until she banged his head round the door. That certainly woke him up!
