My mother was evacuated because we lived in Glasgow, she was supposed to go to Southern General Hospital but because it was near the Docklands that was near a ship building yard it was a target near Clyde Bank which was hit bad during the war. She was evacuated to Lennox Castle, Lennox Town where she gave birth to me, it was 1944.
After the war it was used as a hospital for all the wounded soldiers, those who came back with injuries and disabilities.
