My father the late Major General Revell-Smith GC/AM,DSO,MC* was commanding a light anti aircraft regiment on the beaches at Dunkirk. He was awarded an immediate DSO but unfortunately the War Office tell me that the citation was destroyed in the War.His regiment kept their guns firing to the bitter end and destroyers were being beached to unload ammunition to keep them going. At the end he was one of the last to be taken off having blown up his guns.
Just possibly someone who reads this may know the name of the regiment or may have witnessed them in action.I would like to try and track down the regimental diary if such a thing exists and would be most grateful for any leads or information
