One Friday night we had an air raid in Lincoln off Monks Road. It was dark, the sirens went, there were several explosions and the bombs fell. One fell in the middle of the road in Thomas Street. It didn't go off until 2 days later when it demolished 4 houses.
Another time a bomb was dropped in the River Witham by the High Bridge. I can remember workmen with a barrow with something on it looking like an oil drum. I believe that was the unexploded bomb.
