My Father, Philip Roy Gallop, served in Bombay 鈥 and upon his arrival in 1943 he was issued with a book called 鈥淲elcome to Bombay鈥.
It has lots of useful local information, included a map with the 鈥榦ut of bounds鈥 sections.
This story was submitted to the People鈥檚 War site by Becky Barugh of the 大象传媒 Radio Shropshire CSV Action Desk on behalf of Keith Gallop who very kindly shared it with us. It has been added to the site with Mr Gallop鈥檚 permission and he fully understands the site's terms and conditions.
