By L Pratt:
My memories of the bombing of Coventry and the surrounding area are still very clear. Several air raids took place prior to the massive raid in November. I was in the middle of town and experienced the very first one. I was waiting for a tram to take me to Bedworth. I got on one when it stopped and sat down. The tram started its journey up Bishop Street, then suddenly down came the bombs. One landed close enough to blow the tram along the track. We all jumped off safely and ran along Foleshill Road, still in the bombed area.
