Harold Limeburner holding the Roll of Honour open to the page of his brother Jack's name.
This story was submitted to the People鈥檚 War site by Kristen Helsby of Congleton Library on behalf of Harold Limeburner and has been added to the site with his permission. The author fully understands the site鈥檚 terms and conditions.
Not very long ago I arranged to visit the Battalion HQ of the South Staffs Regiment which my brother Jack belonged to. We were given a tour of the buildings, which included the chapel. They keep the Roll of Honour there, in a specialised display cabinet -- turning a page each day, so that different names are honoured each day.
They allowed me to take the Roll out of the case and be photographed with it open to the page on which my brother Jack's name appears.
