He was 8 years old when the war started. Lived in Essex with his 2 sisters. and brother he had not seen his dad in six years. Because he joined the army and his mother made
Parachutes. He evacuated Essex twice because it was constantly getting bombed. his mother was took ill and they where all looked after by a vicar and his wife but then the had to evacuate and ended up living in Nottingham. With a miner and his family.
He and his brother while there bread rabbits in all they had about 100. The sold them for meat at half a crown each.where he lived the there was a catholic church that blew up and killed 380 people. Also another tragedies that happed was school got bombed
