My husband was despatched to Burma. He left on July 14th, 1941, and came back on September 25th, four years later. Our daughter was born on September 30th, 1941.
I was living in Hyde all this time, and I remember the air raids well. I would go there at night, taking my baby with me. And once two bombs dropped in Hyde.
