There were lots of Italian and German POW鈥檚 working on the land around Kersey.

Mrs Partridge had Germans working her land and they were so grateful for the way that they were treated that some of them came back to visit her long after the war was over, to thank her.

And one girl I knew well married a German POW and they eventually settled near here.
