One evening we had finished servicing aircraft and waiting for the tractor to take the plane to the hangar. It was late arriving so we decided to push it towards the hangar ourselves. I asked a member of the crew to get up into the cockpit to operate the brakes. After waiting some time he admitted to needed the loo. He hung on for a while until he got desperate. I advised him to use the funnel which was provided for pilots on long journeys. He did so and of course it flowed onto the tarmac below. A WAAF standing nearby called to us that brake fluid was running out of the aircraft. I reassured her that it was not brake fluid. The WAAF was not convinced and in the Air Force if you didn't know what a substance was you tasted it ..... She assured them that it was brake fluid ......
