This contribution to WW2 People鈥檚 War was provided by the contributor at an Event at the RAF Neatishead Radar Defence Museum attended by the 大象传媒 Radio Norfolk Action Desk. It has been submitted to the website with the permission and on behalf of Mr Denis Evans.

When I was a boy in 1940 (6 years old)The Americans use to come down to the local pub for a drink. They would ask us lads to look after their bikes so they would not get stolen, and they would pay us for doing this. After their evening session the Americans would come out of the pub a little worse for wear and then we would sell their bikes back to the highest bidder, because they could not remember where they left them. It was a good way of making extra pocket money.
