The group shot shows my mother-in-law, Nancy Anderson, to the left of the picture, with my husband in the pram and soldiers from the camp at St Ives.

The pictures show the army camp, later the prisoner of war camp, at Collingwood Farm, on the north side of Saint Audrey Lane, St Ives. One of the Italian prisoners of war made a wooden toy for my husband.

The group shot shows my mother-in-law, Nancy Anderson, to the left of the picture, with my husband in the pram and soldiers from the camp. The camp was evidently set up as a listening station. They built a mound there (people used to wonder what it was) in which they set up a searchlight. The first time they turned it on, it lit up Wyton Aerodrome and was never used again!

The second picture is again of my mother-in-law and my husband (still in the pram). My husband was born in 1938 so the pictures must have been taken soon after the war started.
