My husband and I met in Great Yarmouth 63 years ago and courted for less than twelve months before getting married in 1941. We met in the theatre, and things went on from the guys asking the gals if they wanted an ice cream.

We came to live in London, in the West Ealing area. There was a lot of bomb damage there, and we had to use the shelter in the garden a lot.

I worked in a munitions factory, while my husband was involved in maintenance of army lorries.
