I remember Chamberlain saying we were at war. My husband was a keyholder at I.C.I, he was never at home. In the bombing he had scary moments. One night we didn鈥檛 go to the shelter, we sat on the settee with the baby. We thought a bomb was coming, but the bomb fell on the house across the way. The night Coventry was bombed (I remember) incendiaries in the garden and on the roof.
