My mate was on the Russian convoys in the Baltic and everyday they took turns for three of them to go down to collect the food from the galley.
One VERY rough day, it was my friend's turn to collect the food. He was given the mashed potato to carry back to the mess. He was violently sea-sick all over the spuds! Rather than waste the food, he stirred it all in and served it up to his mates!
No-one noticed, they were just pleased to get some veg mixed in with the mash!!
