Royal Indian Army Service Corp. Tandiapet India. Peter 2nd left front row
After the war Peter became a teacher and later a Headmaster, he is now aged 90.
He sailed from Liverpool in 1942 and return in 1946 on a Lancaster Bomber. He travelled all over India finally gaining the rank of Captain and I feel sure it was a great experience at the time. A fellow officer was James Leecer, the author of 'Sea Wolves' made into a film with Rodger Moore. Peter married Vera Heywood in May 1940 they have two children, one granddaughter, and two Great Grand children. Sadly Vera died in 1994.
Captain Peter Parkinson Hughes died in the Royal Bolton Hospital at 12.50pm on Friday 9th September 2005 aged 90 years, may he rest in peace.
