A Silent Paradise
Up and away from the milling crowd
To the sanctity of the moors,
From the glowing warmth of solitude,
Tranquillity ensures,
Searching for a paradise,
A quest in faith and sight,
From shadows of a lonely vale,
I walked into the light.
Relaxing in a sunlit dale,
Awakening from a dream,
Silence broken softly,
By the ripples of a stream.
Counting sheep around me,
My thoughts would start to ramble,
Happy in their wonderland,
Lambs begin to gambol.
Reflecting on the moving clouds,
They roll on by forever,
Hillside to the dales below,
Completed with heather,
These hills above look down on love,
Their stories will endure,
Romantic tales of Bronte land
Exotic Ilkley Moor,
A scene of nature鈥檚 beauty,
Resplendent from its birth,
This lonely, silent moor land
A paradise on earth.
