I am sorry but I have no real story to tell. I lived on the family farm near Lazonby and helped on the farm. We never heard the air raid siren, only on practice. We all had ration books but living on a farm we had hens so had eggs, our own milk and were able to keep a pig every year to kill so had bacon. We had children evacuated from around Newcastle but most didn't stay long, unless they had relations in the area.
