This story was submitted to the People's War Site by Joan Smith on behalf of Sylvia Anderson, a visitor to the Bedfordshire County Show on the 9th July 2005. The story has been added with the author's permission, and she fully understands the site's terms and conditions.

Campton in Bedfordshire was where ammunition was stored, and there was one particular store at 'Gypsy Corner.' We school children would pull out some 'ammo' boxes to form a stage and dance on the metal boxes.
