We had evacuees to stay, two brothers and one little boy on his own. The one on his own seemed to be out of it a bit. They were from Sheffield. We also hosted two trainees for 3 years. One of the trainees had been at Dunkirk – he’d been hit with a machine gun while there. He never used to talk about it.
